Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how TORQ ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our freight-management platform, mobile applications, and related services (the "Service").

1. Information we collect

When you sign up or use TORQ, we collect:

• Account info — name, email, phone, company name, role (shipper, fleet, driver).
• Operational data — loads you create, dispatch decisions, invoices, messages, and load attachments such as proof-of-delivery photos.
• Driver telemetry — when drivers use the mobile app on-duty, we collect GPS location, duty status, and hours-of-service entries. This is required for DOT compliance and for live load tracking.
• Device & usage — IP address, browser/device type, pages viewed, timestamps. We do not sell this data.

2. How we use it

We use the data above to:

• Run the Service — match loads, route messages, generate invoices, render the live map.
• Communicate with you — operational alerts, invite emails, password resets, support replies.
• Improve the product — anonymized usage metrics, performance monitoring, bug investigation.
• Meet legal obligations — tax records, DOT logbook compliance, fraud prevention.

3. Data sharing

We share information only with:

• The other side of a load — shippers and fleets can see each other's name, contact info, and load details for loads they're a party to.
• Service providers — hosting, email, maps, push notifications. These are bound by data-processing agreements and use the data only to run our Service.
• Authorities — when legally required (subpoena, regulator audit).

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Driver location data

Driver GPS is collected only when the mobile app is in foreground or the driver is on-duty. When off-duty, the app stops sending location. Drivers can review their location history in the app at any time.

5. Data retention

Operational records (loads, invoices, logs) are retained for the duration of your account plus 7 years for tax and compliance. Personal data tied to closed accounts is deleted within 90 days of account closure, except where retention is legally required.

6. Your rights

You can request a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Account owners can export their org's data from the Settings page. Email privacy@torqme.com for any other privacy request.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Passwords are bcrypt-hashed. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized engineers and is audit-logged.

8. Children

TORQ is a B2B product and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

9. Changes to this policy

If we materially change this policy, we'll notify account owners by email and post the new version here. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
